Based in Morocco, Valérie Barkowski is an art director and designer, founder of the V.Barkowski brand and Dar Kawa, a boutique riad in Marrakech’s medina. For over thirty years, her hand-embroidered home linen brand has combined traditional Moroccan craftsmanship with a contemporary design approach, guided by quality, authenticity, and aesthetic coherence.

Founder of the V.Barkowski brand, Valérie Barkowski has been developing a high-end home linen collection for over thirty years, designed and handcrafted in her Marrakech workshop. At the heart of her creative journey, Riad Dar Kawa stands as a natural extension of her universe. Nestled in the Medina of Marrakech, this intimate Riad is conceived as a home away from home, where inspiration and experimentation meet.

Committed to responsible design, every pattern, embroidery, and finish results from a dialogue between drawing and gesture, between contemporary design and Moroccan craftsmanship. Far removed from fleeting trends and imposed calendars, the essence of the work lies in engaged creation and artisanal production.

In addition to her collections of bed, bath, and table linens, Valérie Barkowski also designs accessories and one-of-a-kind pieces, available exclusively in the V. Barkowski store in Marrakech or at selected fairs such as Wabi-Sabi.
