Touch is my origin.
Perception my space.

As a visual artist, I develop image worlds and unique ceramic pieces.
The shift from surface to vessel form changed my relationship to material and space.
Form arises from the encounter between hand and material, from the act of working itself.

I use stoneware and porcelain from different regions as bodies.
Collected materials from travels, from landscape and from the urban history of Lübeck, in collaboration with the heritage authorities, become skins.

In the fire, acceleration occurs.
What has grown in earth and landscape over centuries condenses within hours.
Loose stratification becomes lasting form.

In the fire, different mineral compositions react.
Each origin inscribes itself visibly with its own tensions and densities.
Bodies, stone, sand and fired brick enter into relation.

Firing is the decisive moment.

What remains:
The presence of the material.
The traces of this encounter.

Relics of nature and time.
Urban history inscribed into the material.
Movement turned into strata.

Tactile archives of memory.
