More than a photographer, Anne-Emmanuelle Thion creates spaces of perception. Her work unfolds at the intersection of image and material, in a constant search for balance between light, silence, and presence. What drives her is not simply to show, but to root the image in reality — until it becomes a living object.

Photographer of the book Wabi-Sabi Mood, Anne-Emmanuelle Thion has been developing a sensitive and intuitive style of photography for over twenty-five years.

From Michelin-starred chefs to nomadic peoples, her gaze delicately focuses on emotions, light, lines, and materials.

On the island of Gran Canaria, she founded La Finca Lomo Caballo, a unique place that has become a veritable laboratory of inspiration: mineral, natural, and solar. A refuge where sharing, exploration, and creation come together.

It is there that her new series NOUN and NAGARE were born, the fruit of an ever-evolving quest—searching, finding, searching again.

Following the soft, dreamlike images of the Après la Danse series and the Totem diptychs, presented at the first Wabi-Sabi Lab, these new works continue a sensitive dialogue with the elsewhere.

Nagare is a series of revealing photo mobiles designed as an immersive installation in which each element stands alone. The images become talismans, nomadic objects to be kept or passed on.

Noun was born after a winter storm on the ocean. Made from reused wood, the images follow the grain of the material and reveal its memory: the print does not cover the surface, it is inscribed on it.
In these recent series, the image becomes the object.

Economy of means, economy of resources: reused wood, paper from Japan, Bhutan, India, or China, stones and pebbles chosen one by one compose an organic language where materials and photographs meet.
