To grasp life with gratitude, through the eyes, of course, but also through smell and touch, barefoot on the skin of the earth.
Then to translate these sensations into the language of Wabi-Sabi in the oblique light of my studio, where light sculptures dance.
I would add that Soetsu Yanagi’s book The Unknown Craftsman and the Mingei exhibition at Quai Branly (2008) were seminal to my work.
