Galerie Suzan

Through a selection of unique objects made in France, Suzan establishes a link between tradition and modernity. A bias that advocates a return to natural materials and yesteryear techniques, while supporting responsible, sustainable and contemporary design. Identifying and highlighting these creations, making them coexist within the same space and online, blurring the boundaries between craftsmanship, design, art and decoration: this is what Suzan offers.

Behind Suzan, there is Clément. The son of an artisan, from a curriculum in graphic and object design, he was Glamour Paris and AD Magazine websites’ art director at Condé Nast France for almost 5 years. An experience that allowed him to discover different editorial worlds, with a particular love at first sight for decoration, architecture, arts & crafts, and raw materials. Freelance graphic designer since 2017, he simultaneously imagined Suzan: a gallery dedicated to crafts, decoration and French art.

For the record: It was during a stay in Morocco that the idea behind Suzan began to hatch. Amazed by the richness of local craftsmanship, Clément began to imagine a hybrid project, a source of discoveries and a vector of encounters. At the same time, his awareness of environmental issues encouraged him to get started while respecting natural resources. Drawing on ancestral practices to bring them back to light seemed essential to him. Then came the desire to “dust off” craftsmanship from his country, renowned for its know-how. To offer an alternative to market trinkets as well as large, inaccessible works of arts & crafts. He therefore chose to work with artisans with strong but compatible universes, with the aim of presenting a contemporary, harmonious and recognizable selection. A collection of beautiful objects with an extra touch of soul, made in a reasoned manner, where each piece is unique and designed with the full attention of its creator.
