Trials make man stronger and make him realize that the essential is in the
simplicity, purity, humility. Everything superfluous is useless. For my textile art, I am
inspired by Wabi Sabi.
This Japanese philosophy refers to a personal sense of sobriety, and harmony where the imperfection of objects and the wear of time are magnified. My art plays on the duality of materials and colors voluntarily earthy.
The Composition is minimal and imperfect in order to be charmed by natural defects and aging. Material poverty adds a sense of peace. The whole art of this concept is the search for beauty in imperfection.
Curious about life and art of the 20th century, these are my encounters with the works of Rothko, Soulages, G.Richter, Nicolas de STAEL who led me step by step towards Wabi Sabi but not only… the Covidian period also brought me closer to nature where I could appreciate its impermanence.
Wabi Sabi is found everywhere to those who are able to see it, it is enough to be charmed by something that gets better with age.
