L’œil de ko

The origin of L’œil de ko is a desire to share the things that we love. All these objects that we come across, that we sometimes accumulate, that we often skip over. Imagine a life for these objects before or after us. Their life from one dwelling place to another, from a workshop to an apartment, from an auction room to a house. From a loving hand to an eager hand, or the opposite.

Sometimes going through the purgatory of the garage, the storage room, the grindstone of disenchantment, fashion trends or entropy.

At the origin of L’œil de ko, there is also a connivance and a convergence of vision. Such as the things that Studio KO shared with Nathalie Guihaumé when she convinced us to shine the spotlight on all the artisans and know-how that we have encountered in our research.

With her, and with her sensitivity that complements our own, we launched into this new adventure which adds a branch to our ecosystem.

These hundreds of objects that our profession leads us to encounter, all here have at least one thing in common: we loved them, we like them. But with time and perhaps a form of maturity, there came the desire to share.

Another thing they have in common: most often they are the result of the work of the hand. The result of a unique and precious continuum which goes from thought, abstract conception to its physical realization. They are the fruit of this harmonious, sometimes laborious movement of creation. They are therefore fragile – like us – and this is undoubtedly where their ethical value lies.
