Nathalie Roverato sculpts to explore a fundamental question: What is happiness? Through her terracotta artworks, she seeks to capture the essence of this quest, inspired by Eastern philosophies—Zen, Buddhism, Taoism—that find in simplicity, presence, and harmony with nature the keys to a fulfilled life.
Her sculptures, with their organic and refined forms, emerge from a dialogue with the elements: earth, water, air, and fire. Each piece, handcrafted, is the result of a slow, meditative process where the earth is purified, shaped, and then transformed by fire. The ancient raku firing technique reveals unique nuances, serving as a metaphor for life itself—unpredictable, ephemeral, and profoundly beautiful in its imperfection.
Her inspiration comes from mountain treks, moments when body and mind unite in effort and silence. Nepal, India, the Alps, the Pyrenees… these places become spaces for reflection, where nature, in its grandeur and serenity, reminds us of the importance of living in harmony with ourselves and the world.
A former engineer, she left behind the world of open-plan offices and frantic rhythms to dedicate herself to art, first through photography, then writing and sculpture. Her poems, echoing her artworks, guide us along the inner paths of happiness, the beauty of simple moments, and the pursuit of wisdom.
Without seeking to impose answers, she opens a space of calm where each of us can reconnect with what truly matters.
