Pascale Zintzen is the founder of Oikos Estudio. She is a multidisciplinary artist based in Barcelona and the countryside region of Baix Ebre, Spain, where she lives with her two kids and dog.
She expresses herself with various techniques and materials, notably ceramic, tapestry, painting, and lime mortar.
Pascale’s work is inspired by the Wabi-Sabi aesthetic, the Mediterranean atmosphere and who she is: a single mother-artist.
Her practice is characterized by slow manufacturing, respecting the time and processes each piece requires. She collects wild pigments to brush her clay artworks.
Her vocabulary is rooted in her background as an archeologist specializing in domestic ceramics. She believes in the spiritual, the magic in the beauty of ancestral objects manufactured for the homes, the ‘oikos’ of the human being.
When expressing herself with clay, Pascale develops pieces standing at the intersection of functional art and sculpture.
Pascale Zintzen is represented by Galerie Philia in the USA, and by Etesian Gallery in Menorca, Baleares.
Her work is featured in showrooms across Europe, notably in Madrid, Paris and Stockholm.
