Mobile sculptures. Driftwood, poetry of the insignificant. Silencing yourself to be fully present with the material. And in a breath, revealing the movement and essence of fragments of the Living.
My work is contemplative.
I have been exploring mobile sculpture for 15 years, using unique fragments of living matter, particularly driftwood.
Through suspension and balance, I create arrangements that are set in motion by the slightest breath of air.
Gathered, as if saved from a fate of chaos and invisibility, wood is always the starting point for my artistic research.
For me, it is a sculpture in its own right, shaped by the hazards of time and the natural elements. It is a question of stripping away and sublimation, revealing its essence.
My gesture consists of connecting, lifting, adjusting and setting in motion. Everything takes place within the space of the circle, between the emptiness and the filled.
My background is in life and earth sciences. I draw my inspiration from Asian philosophical movements and the Mono-Ha movement. Silence, deep simplicity and breath are gateways that connect me to the world.
