At TerraMea, work unfolds through gesture, time, and a delicate attention to material.
In the studio, each piece is slowly shaped by hand, letting the clay guide our choices and the quiet rhythms of the making.
Moving to an old farmhouse in Provence marked a turning point in our creative journey. We discovered a more direct relationship to landscape, light, and the passing seasons. Over time, these elements became embedded in the way we work.
Research into local and wild clays gradually developed, through testing, blending, and firing, in search of raw, mineral textures deeply rooted in the material.
Here, process matters as much as the finished object. Traces of the hand, irregularities, and imbalances remain visible. They speak of time, presence, and physical engagement with clay.
A path partly shaped in Japan encouraged a restrained and attentive approach, sensitive to emptiness, silence, and what is essential.
The pieces allow themselves to be shaped, by the irregularity of gesture, by what escapes control.
Curiosity replaces perfection, and the material retains memory of movement, of emptiness, of what has been touched and then released.
Each piece carries traces of its emergence: quiet moments and subtle imbalances.
