Tressages Pas Sages

My artistic approach is part of a sensitive exploration of weaving as a contemporary visual language. Using plant materials — cultivated wicker, branches, twigs and vines — I develop works that question the gesture, rhythm and transformation of living matter, with the intention of revealing the poetry of nature. Weaving is at the heart of my practice; it involves a direct relationship with time, tension and balance. Each piece is born from a dialogue with the material: following its curves, accepting its resistance, revealing its vibrations.

My work is based on gestures derived from ancestral basketry techniques, which I reinterpret in a resolutely contemporary style. It is not a question of reproduction but of continuity, of anchoring myself in a thousand-year-old craft that is part of today’s aesthetic and spatial challenges. This approach calls for a free form of basketry, situated at the crossroads of design, sculpture and installation. Nature is a constant source of observation and inspiration. Light phenomena, organic movements, and the spontaneous twists and turns of plants feed my formal research.

Light and shadow become integral components of the work, extending the weaving into space and inviting a sensory and immersive experience.

My pieces are conceived as presences rather than objects. They interact with the architecture, taking over walls, volumes or hanging spaces, and transforming the perception of places. Through this practice, I seek to reveal the poetic power of plants and to forge a renewed link between the body, matter and space, with constant attention to living things, their rhythms and their metamorphoses.
